Fallout: London breaks the record for 'fastest redemption of any game on GOG.

The war never changes. Fallout fans are also never changing: they always want more Fallout games. Fallout: London is a full conversion mod that imports the irradiated wastelands from the US into England. The mod was released on 24 July, and players pounced with such ferocity on it that it immediately set new records on GOG.

According to a GOG news post, "In the first 24-hours, the mod has been redeemed over 500,000 times. This makes it the fastest-redeemed game ever on GOG." This is impressive, considering that the digital games storefront was launched in 2008 and hosts over 10,000 games. Cyberpunk 2077 and the Witcher games didn't have people buying them at the same rate as Fallout: London.

GOG was the only site where players could download Fallout: London. Although you can install it on your Steam copy, the mod is not hosted on Nexus Mods or the Steam Workshop. It appears that "redeeming the mod" is not the same as downloading it. As far as I know, adding the mod to your GOG cart and checking out for $0 is considered a redemption. (I have asked for clarification, and will update this post if I get a response.)

I'm sure that everyone who has redeemed the code is playing it or will soon. You guessed it: Fallout 4 Game of the Year edition (which is 60% off) is the top-selling game on GOG. Fallout 4 is also selling like hotcakes. War and the desire for more Fallout never change.
