Today, modders who are recreating Fallout 4 in the engine of Fallout 4, released their first demo.
Fallout: London is a Fallout 4 mod that has been sweeping the gaming world. The mod that brought the Fallout wasteland to jolly old England after years of waiting finally launched last month. It's impressive, even though there are still some issues to be resolved.
Fallout: London may be the most popular mod for Fallout 4, but it's far from the only one to have news. Radiation Kings, tune in to Fallout Vault 13 because: surprise! Today, a demo will be released. You can be one of the first survivors to put on a Pip-Boy in the OG wasteland.
It's possible that you haven't heard of Fallout: Vault 13 because it has been quiet for a few years. The modders behind this project have been trying to recreate the original Fallout using the Creation Engine. In other words, Fallout 4 will be able to play Interplay's 1997 isometric RPG. It's a big task to recreate an old game using a new engine. We haven't heard much from the modders recently, other than a few screenshots posted on social media. I'm glad to see that the mod is still moving forward and am excited to see what it looks like.
Bethesda's "next-gen update", which Bethesda released in April, forced the modders to delay their demo release earlier this year. The demo for Fallout Vault 13 will be released tonight at 9 pm ET. I don't know how to download the files: the modders ask anyone interested to check out the announcement channel on their Discord.
It's also not clear how much will be in the demo. Much of what the team has shown on their YouTube channel of Fallout: Vault 13 has been dedicated towards the recreation of Shady sands, a location that was important in both Fallout 2 and the original Fallout. Not to mention the subject of much controversy in the Fallout TV show earlier this year. I suspect that the demo will be primarily focused on Shady Sands, but we won't know for sure until later today.
