Arrowhead's creative director agrees that Helldivers 2 requires a more difficult difficulty mode following the 'buff-everything' patch

Arrowhead has finally released the Helldivers 2 rebalancing update that took over a month to create. The word is that the people love how much more powerful the guns and stratagems are, and that they have more options for taking down Bile Titans and Hulks. The biggest Terminid and Automaton enemies are now less resistant to weapons that many players thought should do more damage. For example, the Autocannon and Thermite Grenade. They are also less oppressive.

I love the update, too, but I agree with Bunny Asap who tweeted Arrowhead creative director Johan Pilestedt: "Everything's great, but we need to add a harder difficulty." I played the new patch today for a few hrs and noticed that the bugs are less aggressive, even on higher difficulty levels. I used to avoid them because they were too difficult.

My teams are killing Chargers and Bile Titans before they have time to attack, since most support weapons and stratagems now penetrate their armor. I don't wish to go back to when an Autocannon would bounce off the carapace of a Bile Titan, but Super Earth may be too equipped to distribute liberty.

Pilestedt seems to be on the same page as far as difficulty modes is concerned, if he replies "I agree!" "I agree!" He didn't give any more details, but Arrowhead has a history of increasing the heat over time. In the August update of Escalation Of Freedom, we got a new difficulty mode: Level 10 "Super Helldive". We can assume that the next update will be Level 11 and called something like "Super Duper Helldive", as some fans suggested in the thread.

A little more time with the update may change that decision. We're just hours into a major update for Helldivers 2 - maybe the difficulty is fine and I need to get used levels 9 and 10, when I used comfortably to hang around 7 or 6. You can read the full patch note or watch Arrowhead explain the patch in the below video.
