Stratego meets Braveheart in this entertaining and simple game.

The graphics are not jaw dropping, but as is the case with most strategy games, this really doesn't matter. In the end, it's the quality of the gameplay that counts.

Heroes distills the great battle sequences from the PC version and delivers them in a fun, relatively deep game that’s good looking, moderately fast, and that doesn’t falter particularly badly in one area.

No longer 2D or turn-based, HOMAM on the PS2 isn't as deep as might be expected, but it's fast, easy to learn and the battles are incredibly fun.

A renter. Even a close source to me who is a long time devotee to the series seemed a bit uncertain as to whether or not he was impressed with the game.

Fans of the earlier Heroes Of Might & Magic PC games, however, will be shocked at how dumbed-down their beloved strategy game has become on the PS2.

This game is a nightmare to grade. I've tried to be fair, but I can't help but knock off a couple notches because of the brutal lack of effort and obvious shortcuts.

If you love this series on PC then stick to it there because the essence of what makes HMM is just hinted at on PS2.
