The Sims competitor Inzoi will be delayed until next year, because 'it's said that among primates raising a child to adulthood is the longest process'
Inzoi is another of the many Sims-like competitors who are experiencing delays. It's been delayed until March 28, 2025. I'm half convinced that EA has a hex on anyone who creates The Sims-style video games. If its wobbly DLC cards are anything to go by, this includes its own developers.
Life By You is no more, and Inzoi, which has a lot of cool features and looks better by half, will take a little longer to bake. The following statement was probably translated from Korean due to the developer's background. So the language I'm joking about here could be the result of an unfortunate language barrier. It is the only announcement of a game delay that includes the phrase "it's said that among primates", so I feel obligated to mention that.
Hyungjun "Kjun Kim", the director of the game, wrote to its Discord to thank players for playing the demo at Gamescom. "Seeing such engagement made us so happy, and it was inspirational to see how deeply people related to Inzoi. Your feedback and response made us realize that we must provide the best possible experience for our players. This message is about this realisation."
Kim continues: "After reviewing the feedback you provided to Inzoi Character Studio, and analysing a wealth data from our play tests, we made our decision to launch Inzoi Early Access on March 28th, 2025. We apologize that we couldn't bring you the game earlier, but this decision reflects the commitment we have to give Inzoi the best start possible.
Kim then uses a metaphor that is completely out of left field, waxing lyrical on the challenges of parenting:
"It's said that raising a child to adulthood is the most difficult task among primates because humans have to be prepared to adapt and endure their constantly changing environment. I am a firm believer in the extra love and care required to properly raise a child. I will be nurturing Inzoi, a game we will be nurturing from its Early Access beginning. This change in release date is a reflection of our commitment to give Inzoi a better foundation so that we can embark on our journey together in the best possible way.
Although I would like to never hear the words "Early Access Birth" again, this seems fair to me. Feedback is a tricky business, and you're bound to find new problems when a large group of Gamescom attendees put your game through its paces.
Kim continues, "We'll continue to work on areas that need improvement, and strive to create a life simulation game that captures the essence." "Our goal is to create an experience that fans will enjoy for many years to come. We'll keep in touch with you on our progress and hope you continue to join us as we work towards Inzoi's Early Access and beyond. "Thank you."
