Steam's 1.0 release, Satisfactory, has attracted more than 100,000 concurrent users for the first ever time.
You'd think that after five years of early access, everyone would have played Satisfactory at some point, and that the 1.0 release was nice, but not essential. Or at least, I would think so--and then have to admit I was wrong about everything.
Satisfactory's Steam concurrent player count has soared past 100,000 for the first time. Steam Charts shows that the previous peak was 34,238. This is still a respectable number for a niche title.
Satisfactory is also in the top 10 of Steam's best sellers list. There are a lot of new Satisfactorios in the scene.
It's a high note for a long-running game that has done well for itself. Satisfactory was released in early access on the Epic Games Store in March 2019. It sold more than 500,000 units in less than three month, making it a rare Epic exclusive that actually makes money.
It was released on Steam in July. Our resident Satisfactician Wes Fenlon described it as "the best building/automation PC game" and that was even before the release of "it's done" 1.0 update.
The 1.0 version is not just a few tweaks and tunes before the release. Wes compiled a long list of all the new features in 1.0, including performance optimizations, player customizations, new fuel types and whatever Somersloops or Mercer Spheres might be. "The short answer is that there's a lot more to do than there was at the beginning," wrote Wes. And right now, there are a lot more people doing it too.
