Tiny Glade celebrates 500,000 players by releasing a much needed quality-of-life update

Tiny Glade is a game that has captivated people for more than three weeks. I am no exception. Players have not slowed down in their creations. This sweet city builder reached a major milestone last week. Developer PounceLight is excited to share this news.

Tiny Glade gained over 500,000 unique users as of last week. This is quite impressive for a game created by just two people. The game had over 800,000.00 wishlists prior to its launch. PounceLight said on X that the player count was "bonkers", and thanked everyone who spent time creating something in Tiny Glade. PounceLight added that "Seeing your creations is pure joy." It's not incorrect. I've enjoyed looking at other people's creations as much as I have in trying to create my own.

Tiny Glade has also achieved many milestones. SteamDB reports that the game reached a peak of 10,692 simultaneous players on the day of its launch. Since this peak, the game has seen a consistent player number of 1,000 to 1,500. Even though this is a significant drop, given that it has only been three weeks since the launch of the game, it's something to be proud off.

Tiny Glade, following this success, has released a new patch update, which includes several Quality-of Life fixes, such as remembering the last colour/style you edited. This is an important and necessary addition. I've spent too much time manually entering my colour schemes for a large project. I'm sure that anyone who has decided to build a village will feel my pain. These aesthetics will be available to you when you continue to build your village, even if you close the game.

It is now possible to remove merlons, railings and stairways. This eliminates the need to jam together two blocks to try to remove them. This is a much-needed update, as having to strategically place blocks inside each other to remove railings became a bit tedious after a while. Below you can find the patch notes that include the ability to remove railings, and buildings that remember what pattern they are working with.

  • When merging fencing, inherit the color from the fence you are merging with.
  • When a shape A is snapped onto a shape B that has a flat-roof, shape A also gets a roof with a similar flatness.
  • Merlons are not used when a roof intersects with a half-timbered house. Instead, merlons are a row of bricks that outline the connection.

The latest patch update should make it easier for players to create these masterpieces.
