"As far I know, only one person could do that." Elon Musk's feat is praised by Nvidia CEO

I'm not by nature cynical. I understand the trillion-dollar tech sector. I know it doesn't pay to be negative about a client who wants to spend thousands of dollars more. Sometimes, a CEO may say something that makes me think "Oh, come one!" Really?" In an interview with a tech investment firm, Nvidia’s boss did exactly that.

In a snippet from an interview posted by X channel StockMKTNewz via Wccftech, Jen-Hsun Huang is asked about his thoughts on xAI’s recent expansion of their Colossus Supercomputer build which took only 17 days to finish.

"Just building a huge factory, liquid-cooled and energized in the short amount of time...I mean, that's superhuman. As far as I'm aware, only one person could accomplish this feat. Elon is unique in his understanding of large systems and engineering, as well as his ability to marshal resources. "It's unbelievable," Huang said.

Really? Really? Just a? The teams involved are deserving of a lot of praise for putting it all together and running its first training session within just two weeks. This is a very impressive feat.

To paraphrase Huang, it is impossible to believe that Elon Musk was the sole cause of this.

To be fair to Nvidia CEO, it is possible that he meant that xAI was the largest purchaser of Hopper AI chips. Musk is also perhaps the most vocal AI proponent at the moment along with OpenAI's Sam Altman. Musk deserves credit for the expansion, but I think it is unfair to give all the credit to Musk without mentioning the efforts of the planners and designers, engineers and software developers.

It's borderline absurd to suggest that no one else in the entire world could accomplish such a feat.

It's not that I'm surprised, because the tech industry is known for its CEOs who are all good hearted. Like Huang and Zuckerberg. Huang and Sutskever. Musk and Huang again. It has absolutely nothing to do with how much money these companies are spending on Nvidia hardware. Absolutely, 100%, certifiably no.

Now I'm off again to test new chips from an established vendor. I wonder if the vendor will describe my efforts as superhuman.
