Black Friday is just around the corner. My deal of the week this week is an unbelievable price on a 4K Monitor.
Amazon $519.99
" data-widget-type="deal" data-render-type="editorial">I'm going to confess something: my favourite piece of kit when I'm playing games is a Yoga Slim 9i Laptop. It's lightweight, and it does everything I need when I'm not romping across the Sword Coast with Baldur's Gate 3 in those few moments that I'm not gaming. One of the most amazing details is that it's tiny 14-inch touchscreen has 4K UHD. It's overkill in a small package but the crisp image makes me think it's about time I upgraded my gaming monitor.
The LG UltraGear 26GR93U is our top pick as the best 4K gaming display. Its 27-inch screen is almost twice as large as my laptop. But what I want to highlight is that you can get it for only $430 from LG. If you're curious, it costs $89.01 less at Amazon.
A 4K gaming screen for less than $500 may seem like a great deal, but Jeremy explains why in his LG UltraGear review. The 27-inch UHD monitor has a high pixel density that produces a crisp, clear image.
This LCD monitor is not a slouch in terms of technical ability, even though it's a LCD screen and not an OLED. This 144 Hz monitor comes with beautifully calibrated colours and a 1 ms responsive time.
Even with the OSD menu's three response-accelerating overdrive options, those specs likely won't cut it if you're a top-of-the-pile esports player. The monitor's chassis is also a bit shabby. If you're a fan of a shiny setup, its icky plastic will be a big turn-off.
This gaming monitor is not the most attractive I've seen, but it does leave me wanting a cleaner and chromer look. It's just as good that it handles HDR games such as Cyberpunk 2077. This gaming monitor may not be the best looking because of its plastic frame, but it will make my version V look extra glossy on screen when I return to Night City and check out the Phantom Liberty DLC.
LG's UltraGear 27GR93U is the perfect screen for those who want to spend a few too many hours perfecting their look as both Rook and Inquisitor, in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Not to mention marveling at the hair physics. For only $430 you are definitely worth it.
