Black Friday is the lowest price ever for the game-recording and streaming handheld dock that transformed my Legion Go into an actual console.

" data-widget-type="deal" data-render-type="editorial">I have a funny relation with the AverMedia X'tra GC515 dock capture. In my review, I gave it 79% which is a good but not outstanding score. Yet, I have been using it and enjoying it consistently over the past few month. The main issue I had was the price. If you don't plan to create professional content by recording or streaming on your handheld, $200 is a lot.
It's now available for $150 at Amazon and Newegg, its lowest price ever. I think it would be easier to recommend it to those who may only occasionally dabble in recording or streaming. Apart from all that recording, I've used the GC515 for months, allowing me to transform my Lenovo Legion Go handheld into a console-like device.

First, I connect everything. I plug in the dock and place it next to my television on its cabinet. I then connect it to said TV using HDMI. Then I plug in a controller (it's passthrough), so it's ready for action as soon as my computer boots up.
I then plug in the Legion Go via USB-C, which charges it. It doesn't slot in to charge, like a Switch, which is a pity. I'm now ready to boot onto the TV and play games like I would with any other console.
You ask, what if I need to enter a username or a password? For such situations, I have a cheap USB keyboard plugged into one of the other USB port.
It may seem like a lot, but this is a simple "one-and-done" process. Once I have my dock connected to the TV using HDMI, and my keyboard and controller plugged in, it's done. Plugging in the handheld is all I need to get up and running. I'm gaming like it's still 2005, and I haven’t heard of PC gaming.
There are cheaper options if you only want to save money.
The X'tra Go GC515 also has the capture and streaming functionality. You can record at 4K 30 fps or 1440p 60 fps.
Press the large button on the front to record or stream. You'll be notified by a red light if you are being recorded or streamed. This recording is of a pretty high quality, as you would expect, given that it's essentially a capture device.
This is the best method to use if you want to stream or record your gameplay using your handheld. If you're a gamer, this is a great way to record and stream gameplay.
This could be a great deal to pair with the new handheld for a streamer who is just starting out.
