Deadlock's new heroine only wants one thing: a sovereign nation in Wyoming, the US state.

I love reading about the lore of each hero. Some are as simple "Jacob Lash's an asshole," but others describe a hero’s journey and the tragedies that they've faced, such as Bebop becoming a criminal to pay for his Creator's medicine. Deadlock's newest addition is no exception.

Mirage is Valve's newest hero in Deadlock. He is a bodyguard to the Djinn Ambassador Nashala Dion who is currently in New York City. She is on a diplomatic trip: finding a safe land for their kind. Wyoming is the best candidate. Wyoming is a place I've never been to, so I cannot comment on how it compares to the rest the States. However, it seems like an odd choice for a new utopia.

Mirage is a pretty useful character on the battlefield, except for Wyoming. Tornado, his primary attack transforms him into a whirlwind capable of launching enemies into the air while dealing damage. Mirage also has Fire Scarabs and Djiinn’s Mark. The first launches bugs that drain the enemy's life force. The second is a passive that increases the multiplier of your chosen target. His ultimate lets him teleport allies or opponents, giving him an instant speed boost.

Other players are having as much fun as me learning the story behind Deadlock’s most specific real-estate agent, as they are with other heroes. "I hope that they keep it random," says one player. It's a lot of fun to sift the lore and get blindsided when you find out 'Is eating werewolves cannibalism?' My only hope is that Deadlock's story doesn't end up in lore purgatory, like Overwatch. They can't make anything happen so they're just constantly referring to future and previous events that won't get expanded.

I don't know where Deadlock's tale is going but I would like it to remain easy-going as it advances. I'm having a lot of fun as I explore the maps, read the heroes' lore and browse the newspapers available on the newsstands.
