Dragon Age: The Veilguard will not have Denuvo. This also means that it won't be having a preload on PC.

Electronic Arts has revealed all the PC system requirements and global preload times for the upcoming RPG Dragon Age The Veilguard. Those of us playing on PCs can ignore these details, because we won't be getting a preload.

The justification might help to balance out the disappointment. EA explained that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will not include any DRM from a 3rd party (such as Denuvo), on any platform. The lack of DRM will mean that PC players won't have to wait for a preload period.

Denuvo, for those who are unfamiliar, is a type of anti-piracy program that's popular with game publishers but unpopular with a lot of gamers, who believe it can ruin a game's stability and performance. Publishers often remove Denuvo when a game's sales drop and piracy concerns are less urgent (EA removed Denuvo from Star Wars Jedi: Survivor last September, for example), but to do so outright is a bit unusual. EA did not explain why it chose to forgo DRM like Denuvo. I have asked and will update this post if anyone can provide an explanation.

As for the hardware requirements, Veilguard can be played on a low-end rig, as long as the graphics aren't the highest quality.

EA stated that "players with high-end systems will be able take advantage of our suite Ray Tracing features as well as uncapped frame rates." "We focused on making it as accessible as possible for everyone when determining the minimum PC specs." This seems to be a reasonable approach.

Let's get to the numbers!
