Dragon Age: Veilguard will receive its first patch later this month.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard was launched last week, and it didn't require a crisis patch to work properly. Maybe a positive side effect from not needing an online connection? It was a relatively smooth ride for most players. However, there is still some cleaning up to do, and a new patch will be released later this week.
"Hello everyone, our first patch for Dragon Age The Veilguard will be available this week on all platforms." BioWare released a Steam announcement. This patch will include minor balance changes and crash mitigations, as well as bug fixes.
As is customary, the full patch notes are included with the patch. However, a few examples of fixes include:
- Fixed a bug where some customizations weren't applied correctly to the Inquisitor in one scene.
- Fix for a problem where DLSS could be "grayed out" on a Nvidia 40-series GPU. (PC only)
- Fixed a bug that caused Companion Skill Points (CSP) to reset.
BioWare shared some "technical" tips shortly after The Veilguard was released. However, they were really just "update drivers" and "use the low graphical setting if you are playing on Steam Deck", so there wasn't much to see.
It's a good thing, too: the patch announcement has prompted a variety of replies requesting fixes for specific issues. For example, adding an option to hide "skip" on cutscenes is high on the list. But there's not an overwhelming flood of this doesn't work. The fact that BioWare didn't have to rush to release hotfixes and workarounds right out of the gate is a testament to the state the game was in when it launched.
We may not have much to say about the technical side of Dragon Age: The Veilguard right now, but there are plenty of other guides that will help you get started, including the one that matters most: how to knock boots with everyone.
