Eric Barone confirms that work on Stardew Valley 1.6 console and mobile ports is still ongoing

Stardew Valley 1.6 was released for PC earlier this year. It wasn't just a patch. It added a ton of new features, including a brand-new farm, more festivals and tons of quirky secret for players. Fans were so excited about the patch that 150,000 people returned to play.

The fun is only available to PC users as Eric "ConcernedApe", the creator, has been working hard since March to get the console and mobile 1.6 patch ready. Barone has been providing small updates and is still heavily involved in patching and porting.

Barone says, "I am doing all I can to get the ports ready as quickly as possible. I know that console and mobile players want to play 1.6. "The ports require additional work beyond the PC-version. Another patch for PC is in the works, which consists primarily of bug fixes. Barone's spinning plate on plates is essentially what it is.

Some fans worry that Barone forgot about his upcoming RPG Haunted Chocolatetier, because he has spent so much time and effort on Stardew Valley. Barone announced the upcoming game in October 2021. "After dedicating ten years of my life (and counting) to Stardew Valley, it is finally time to announce my next video game," he wrote in a blog. "It's titled ConcernedApe Haunted Chocolatier."

After the announcement, there were a few progress updates, but we haven't heard much since October 2023. And even then, it was only a few screenshots. Barone has a lot on his plate. He even said that his obsession to perfect Stardew Valley is affecting the development of Haunted Chocolatier.

It's not surprising that Barone's most recent Stardew Valley update includes an apology for Haunted Chocolatier's fans. Barone confirms that console and mobile ports are still being developed. "I admit that it is taking a while. There are many reasons, but the bottom-line is that they have not been released yet. We are still working hard on them. They have been our main focus since the release of 1.6 for PC. It would be great if they were available today, but unfortunately they aren't. We will continue to work on them until they are.

"I haven't touched Haunted Chocolatier for a long time, because I am focused on completing Stardew 1.6. I accept and understand the frustration or anger of those who are angry about the timeline. Thank you to those who have patience and understanding. You make my life better and reduce the stress. I appreciate you. "Back to work."

Barone is free to take as much time as necessary to finish the work on Haunted Chocolatier. Would I like to start playing the game as soon a possible? Sure. Do I want to do it at the cost of his or anyone else’s mental or physical well-being? No, of course not. Barone and his team have done stellar work with Stardew valley, and I am excited to see what Haunted Chocolatier will achieve in the future.
