Fallout: London developers give maths homework to players suffering from a bug which lowers their health.

The release of Fallout: London has not been a smooth ride. After a confusing installation and modders who chose the word soccer instead of any reference to football, players now face a frustrating bug which affects their HP.

This debuff is related to a game-crashing bug that affects players who take a train in apocalyptic London during the mod's early hours. This bug, now aptly named "train crash," has a lasting impact on players' health, and could even prevent them from completing the game.

Callum Quick, the lead writer of Fallout: London, says in a Discord post that "if you're being one-tapped by a dog or fox etc. this is probably the reason." "There's a bug with how the player health is handled after a train crash. This disproportionately lowers max HP for characters with high health or endurance." This will be corrected in the first update. The "Lab Rat" affliction's effect will also be increased to give the same feeling of desperation early on.

If you don't want to wait for an update, Quick offers a manual way to restore health: "For current saves, calculate what your character's maximum HP should be by using the formula below. Then, find the difference between this and your current maximum HP. Use the modav command to bring it back to where it should (do NOT use setav). Or, if the challenge is appealing, just leave it alone."

If you have the perk "Life Giver", this will change the formula slightly. If you are on survival mode, you should briefly switch to normal or hard mode to access the console. If you don't wish to mess up your survival run there is a mod which will allow you to access the console in survival mode. It may be easier to just take the L, and live in fear of rabid foxes, because when I tried to work through the equation on my own, I was halted with horror flashbacks from GCSE mathematics, which no one should have to relive.

This isn't a first time that players have suggested a mod for Fallout: London. Some players have reported a beer pad that is only able to deal half damage if carried around. Another player said, "Get this mod." "Basically, the Beer Mat in the Hound does half the damage instead of what is supposed to happen." It's a band-aid fix, but hopefully players won't be forced to endure this for much longer.

Team Folon shared a message confirming that the team is working to improve the installation and fix any technical issues. If you are also experiencing problems with Fallout London, I suggest looking at the solutions megathread shared by the developers on Reddit. It contains all the answers for any game-related issues.
