Kara said this about the 8BitDo Ultimate in July: "I've used the Ultimate as my main controller for the majority of things. It's built is much more comfortable than most other Xbox-style controls I've used. This is important to me because after a few minutes, I find my hands cramping up with many controllers. It has a great battery life. I've tested it and it's around 40 hours. Even then, if the battery is flat, charging only takes a few hours."
The "Hall effect" stick technology is one of the reasons to switch to 8BitDo controllers. Hall effect sticks do not use a potentiometer to measure analog stick movements, which can wear down and cause the dreaded "stick drift" phenomenon. Instead, they use a sensor, which does not require physical touch, and so are less susceptible to wear and tear. It's not new technology, but we prefer it for controllers.
