Humble Bundle has you covered if recent Warhammer 40,000 games have left you with a grimdark itch. You can get $589 worth of RPGs at just $25.

It's not the first time Humble Bundle offers a great deal on Fantasy Flight Games old Warhammer 40,000 RPGs. But with Imperial fever at an all-time high following the release of Space Marine 2 I thought it was worth bringing attention to their latest offering. This time, the focus is on Deathwatch and Rogue Trader.

Space Marine 2's introduction shows you how to play as Space Marines who fight as part of Deathwatch. They are an elite alien-fighting team that draws its members primarily from other space marine chapters. This makes it a great reason to create a campaign where you throw a rowdy Space Wolf and a noble Ultramarine together with a secretive Dark Angel and a sinister Blood Angel.

Rogue Trader lets you recreate the Owlcat RPG, which has a great premise to explore the 40k universe. As a rogue explorer and trader, you are part of the Imperium of Man but free from many of its restrictions. You can explore unapproved territories, mix with aliens and search for forbidden artifacts. This is as close as 40k gets to Star Trek, but with plenty of grimdarkness.

The bundle includes all 41 items for $25 / 22.60 PS, which is a total value of $589/ PS440.16. This includes the core books for both games, all their supplements (including sourcebooks that add new character options), and a wide range of campaigns and adventures. You can choose a lower-tier option for a little less, but I would not recommend it in this case. The cheaper options don't include the core books that you need to play.

The old TTRPGs are bursting at the seams with 40k lore, and their mechanics really evoke that setting. However, they do have some flaws. The core system, especially in Deathwatch, is clunky and struggles to represent the abilities and powers of a space Marine. You may find that the epic battles you dream of taking place take a long time to resolve.

Deathwatch has all the details you need to know about the extra organs that space marines have. The wealth of adventures in this book will come in handy even if you choose to run your campaign using a modern system. There are a few choices available.
