This card offers performance that is almost as good as the RTX 3080, but with all of the nice RTX40 features. This model uses an 8-pin PCIe connector rather than the 12VHPWR, making it easier to upgrade.

If you're waiting for a last minute Hail Mary deal from one of Nvidia’s graphics card partners, I'm not so sure it will be as spectacular as you might hope. These Nvidia RTX-40-series GPUs hold their value very well. Even though we hear that some models will be sent to the graveyard in order to make room for newer numbers.

Next year, the RTX 40 series will be replaced by the RTX 50 series. You may want to wait until then before buying a new graphics cards to see what's all about. We can say with certainty that performance will be higher.

If you can't wait, or if your GPU has just gone up in a puff a smoke, I have spotted a great deal on the RTX 4700.

Walmart is the only place I can find it, and it costs a penny less than $500. We don't want to hear about that.99-cents nonsense, so we'll just call it $500.

It's the Zotac Twin Edge. This means that it's an identical twin-fan model. It contains an AD104 GPU, which has 5,888 CUDA Cores spread across 46 SMs. This means 46 RT cores, 184 Tensor Cores, for ray tracing and other AI gizmos.

The RTX 4070 has 12 GB of GDDR6X, which is a good amount of VRAM for the new gaming world in 2025. If you want more, AMD's RX 7800XT is available for $480, which is the lowest price I could find, also at Walmart.

If you are on the fence about buying either card, it's not a bad idea to wait until Black Friday to see if a better deal is available. We will be searching for the best Black Friday graphics cards deals throughout November, so make sure to check this page frequently for the latest.

If there aren't any great deals, you can wait a few months for the 50-series.

The RX 6800XT was the best card at this price point. But now, we have deals where the 7800XT is the same price. The 7800 XT is only a tiny bit faster than its predecessor, but it still offers a lot of GPU for the price.
