Kai Cenat breaks Twitch's all-time subs record with marathon livestream featuring everyone, from Snoop Dogg and Kim Kardashian

Streamer Kai Cenat, who has achieved this feat twice before, has surpassed VTuber Ironmouse in the Twitch subscriber count. Cenat will be streaming for a month as part of the ongoing "Mafiathon 2", which is a livestream endurance demonstration. Cenat calls his fans the "Kai Mafia", thus the name.

Ironmouse had dethroned Cenat on October 2, 2024. She achieved 326.252 subscribers in her own subathon which lasted almost 40 days. This is a popular Twitch format that allows streamers to livestream continuously over a long time. In Ironmouse’s case, she even appeared on camera at Twitchcon.

This record was held by several popular streamers in recent years, including Cenat, Ninja, Ludwig, all of whom had over 150,000 subscribers. This metric is different from a simple follower count (Cenat currently has 14,1 million followers). It's prized because it represents subscribers who pay a monthly fee for ad-free streaming and extras such as emotes. To add another wrinkle, the number could go up or down.

Cenat, who sailed past Ironmouse in Mafiathon 2 on November 11, day 11, reacted like a typical streamer by screaming a lot. His friends then joined in to rip his top off. Cenat has just over 350,000 subs according to Twitchtracker. This is the record for all time. There are still a few days left in the subathon.

Cenat said on X, "We lost #1 a few months ago and completely planned another in less than two month and came back to get the world record again." "I love my supporters from the depth of my heart. Job still not done only day 11!" Cenat celebrated the milestones of 340,000 and 350.000, saying that he felt "blessed."

Ironmouse, for her part, congratulated Cenat on his success and predicted that he would reach a million . She said this in-stream: "I bet [he] makes it to a thousand , he hasn't done the entire month yet."

The Mafiathon 2 concept is well-resourced and includes a real-world marketing campaign. The link to Cenat’s Twitch channel was painted on a building in LA, along with a trailer featuring Kim Kardashian as Cenat’s therapist. Cenat explains Mafiathon to her: "I stream for 30 straight days, 24 hours a day [...] they watch me eat and sleep, shower on camera the entire time."

The stream started on November 1, and will continue until the end of this month. Cenat was swatted by law enforcement on the first day. This is not the first time that this has happened. Since then, the personality has used this sway to get all sorts of celebrity favors and maintain interest in his show. This includes a visit to Snoop Dogg’s recording studio on 4 November (during which Cenat was given a tour and a large cannabis joint). GloRilla and Lil Uzi Vert both performed, while Serena Williams and Miranda Cosgrove joined Cenat to cook. Other guests included Denzel Curry, Kodak, Kodak, Quavo, Kodak, Kodak, and Quavo.

Cenat has already been nominated as Best Marathon Stream for the upcoming Streamer Awards. November will no doubt see him push that record-breaking figure even higher. Cenat still has a long way to go before he can surpass Ninja's 19 million followers. His follower count is just over 13 millions, making him the 5th most watched personality on the platform.
