Modders have restored the final boss' strength to his previous level after FromSoft's recent Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree update.

The latest patch of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree brought some surprising changes. One of them was the nerfing of the last boss of the DLC - Promised Consort Radahn. Some players, however, have decided that the changes are a step in the wrong directions and have started modding them out.

FromSoft's patch has nerfed Radahn’s damage, stamina and range. Fighting Radahn won't be easy, but it will be less of a hassle than it used to be. A small part of my heart is happy about these changes, as I have yet to face Radahn. But I really don't want help. I don't mind how long the fight takes or how frustrating it is. I want to fight Radahn the way I intended and do what comes naturally to me--somehow scrape through on my hundredth attempt and then claim that i wasn't really trying.

When I finally reach the final boss I'll probably use one of the mods that restore Radahn's true strength. Pre-Nerf Promised Consort Radahn, one of the many projects that aim to "bring pre-nerf [Radahn] back with the new L Latest patches," is one such project.

Better Promised Consort Radahn is another mod that does more than just rework Radahn’s recent changes. Interloper, the modder who created the mod, says that the post-patch version significantly slows down Radahn's speed. This is for those who like his old aggression and his speed but don't like the bugs and interactions which made him unbalanced. One of the bugs would force Radahn to a wall and cause him to disappear, then randomly die. This was not appreciated by players that had dedicated blood, sweat and tears to the battle for hours.

This mod also adds an improved terrain, which makes it easier to avoid getting caught on random edges. It also adds sound cues to Radahn’s clone and meteor attacks to make them more recognizable. This mod will make the fight easier, but it does not change Radahn’s strength. It just makes it easier to keep up with Radahn’s, at times chaotic attack combinations.

DLC Radahn Prenerf is another mod that introduces some detailed modifications (as well a version which only nerfeds the cross). "I think I have found most of the changes." In the description, MiquellaTheUnalloyed states that some players would consider the patch to be too much of a nerf for the boss. "I met many people who felt that everything but the cross attack wasn't necessary," he says. "So I created a mod that reverses all of these changes as well as another version that keeps the cross-attack nerf."

Radahn's cross attack was one of the most difficult combo attacks MiquellaTheUnalloyed could deliver. It was nearly impossible to dodge his attacks, except by light rolling or pulling a shield. If you dodged one, you would get hit with the next and vice versa. Radahn’s monstrous attacks and massive weapon hitboxes are challenging, but part of the fun in trying to kill a God.
