Noctua confirms that its first decibel-dampening electrical supply will be launched this year

Noctua showcased its upcoming Seasonic power supply at Computex in early this year. The Seasonic Prime TX-1600 Noctua edition PSU, featuring all the " shhh " engineering might Noctua has to offer, is now officially scheduled to launch before year's end.

According to the Noctua roadmap (via Overclock3d), this Seasonic-Noctua combo should be available in Q4 of 2024. I am certainly excited about it. It should be a very powerful, but quiet power supply.

There's a heated debate in the virtual halls at PC Gamer's Hardware department about its aesthetics. Listen, Noctua has a cream-and-brown style that I love, but it doesn't go well with black metal. Isn't the first fashion rule that brown and black do not mix? It's just me. I'll keep quiet.

It's important to note that this power supply should be incredibly quiet. When Jacob (the other, better-dressed one) visited Computex in June, it was explained that the PSU would be 8-10 dB louder than the standard Seasonic Prime TX-1600. This was achieved by preventing the blades of the fan from being parallel to grill struts.

The Prime TX-1600 is fanless up to 50% of the time, so it will only spin up when game frames begin to churn. When it does, wouldn't you like it to do it in a nice and unobtrusive way? You want to be soothed by the sensual Noctua's whisper.

Noctua is on a roll because it has also introduced its next-gen, 140 mm fan - the NF-A14x25G2. This fan will replace the stellar NF-14 and NF-12x25. The latter is our current choice for the best PC fans on the market.

It would be wonderful if we could soon equip our rigs completely with Noctua gear that is as silent as possible. We were told that the Noctua Edition should only cost $30 more than the standard version. With 1600 watts, you won't need to upgrade for a long time. Noctua knows how to pick them!
