Steam Cooking Fest offers some of the best cooking games at a lower price than a snack
Steam is hosting the Cooking Fest from now until November 18 to highlight the best cooking games. This is a great chance to spice up your library if you're like me and hopeless at cooking. You can choose from a variety of games, including first-person simulators for chefs and restaurant management simulations. There are also emotional stories about cooking and heritage. There's a wide variety of games to spice up your palate.
Venba, one of my favourite narrative cooking games, is currently on sale for 50% off. This means you can get what I consider to be one of the most visually appealing and audibly pleasing cooking games at only PS6.39/$7.49. If you prefer something more casual, Manitas Kitchen, a dinosaur pizzeria simulation, is also available at half price. It costs only PS5.49/$6.49. What's not love about pizza and dinosaurs? I think it's a match that was made in heaven, so grab it while you can.
If you want to make your friends participate in the festival, and create an experience similar to watching The Bear, then Plate Up! Both Plate Up! and Overcooked 2 can be purchased at a discount. Plate Up! Plate Up! is available at a generous 66% discount (PS5.69/$6.79). Overcooked 2, however, has a 75% discount (PS4.99/$6.24). This means you can experience pure frustration and stress for pennies. This discount is probably a fair compensation for the friends you'll lose, but it's still worth it.
Pizza Possum is a great option for a local co-op game. It's a cute arcade game where you have to steal snacks without getting caught by patrolling dogs. I love this game because the possums and raccoons are adorable. It's hard not to recommend it for PS3.47/$4.19.
Not only are there discounts. Free Demos and Upcoming tabs allow you to add upcoming cooking and food-related games to your wishlist. Call of Boba is a game I've been watching for a long time. It's much more comfortable than having to endure another round of Overcooked, which is probably more attractive.
Cooking Fest offers a few free items in the point shop to redeem, aside from a lot of discounted games and demos. As part of the festival, you can get an animated avatar and avatar frame as well as an animated sticker without using any points or having any games.
