The Nvidia app has finally been released from beta. If you hate having to remember your login for GeForce experience, you should give it a try.
The Nvidia App was released in beta form to the public in February of this year. Nine months later, it has been officially released. This is accompanied by a few graphics drivers for upcoming titles and, most importantly of all, it further cements Nvidia's app as the replacement to its previous software attempts.
In February, it was announced that the app would kill off GeForce experience. It felt less consistent, had a new interface, HDR support in any game and the ability to record at 120 frames per second. The best part about switching to the Nvidia App, however, is that you don't have to deal with an Nvidia Account.
The app can be used without having to create or sign in an account. This was a very annoying aspect of previous Nvidia apps. The last Nvidia graphics drivers update fixed a number of high-severity security vulnerabilities. It's important to maintain your machine, so any barriers could deter some gamers from using previous apps.
Unfortunately, there are no new features included in the Nvidia App launch. It's more of a symbolic release than a meaningful one. A graphics driver update is now live, as well as the announcement that certain RTX 40 series cards will be bundled with Indiana Jones the Great Circle in the future.
It's important to note that this announcement implies an assurance level in the Nvidia App. The fact that it has been in beta for the majority of this year is necessary to communicate that the software is still new and is subject to change. It's launch means that it will be here to stay and, after switching over to it in the last few months I am glad. It's a nice piece of software that has intuitive controls to help you understand your system, redeem any Nvidia codes, and, most importantly get driver updates.
I've never had a problem logging into my account in order to run previous software, but I understand that many users don't like to have to remember multiple accounts and passwords just to play games. Users can download drivers manually from the Nvidia website, but it is a lengthy process. This app makes it much easier.
