The ultra-violent, time-bending horror FPS which always makes my palms sweat and heart race is now less than one dollar
F.E.A.R., the classic shooter, was a natural reinstall. It was a logical reinstall. It's an old-fashioned, simple game that pits a member of First Encounter Assault Recon of the United States Military against a psychic operative who has gone rogue. You lock and load then dive into the facility where he is hiding to take him out.

Then things start to go haywire. You, named Point Man start to have creepy, bloody hallucinations. Alma, a small girl, appears in random places, usually causing a carnage or massacre. Other military units have been found ripped apart, while others are now telepathically controlling you to destroy your own life.
Point Man also discovers that he can slow time in short bursts, which enables him to gain an advantage in combat. Gunfights suddenly become slow-mo John Woo extravaganzas with bullets splattering like treacle on the enemies and shell casings spouting out like treacle. It's a visceral and adrenaline-inducing mixture that always leaves my palms sweaty. It's exactly what I want in a game of this kind.
F.E.A.R. Platinum Edition is now available for less than a dollar (this edition includes both the main game and its expansions). I thought it would be a great idea to share this with the PC gaming community. This is literally the ultimate example of getting a lot of bang for your money. Details can be found below.
F.E.A.R. F.E.A.R. This legacy is still alive today. A quick look at the game on Steam shows that it has more than 10,800 'Very positive' reviews by PC gamers. Many of these are from the last few months. After playing it recently, I can confirm that this is an FPS which has aged well.
This GOG release runs on Windows 10/11 perfectly, and comes with a bunch of digital goodies like wallpapers, manuals and behind-the-scenes videos. This game runs smoothly on my Nvidia GeForce 3090 Ti-powered system. Due to its low system requirements, any gaming PC can handle F.E.A.R. Without breaking a sweat. The game requires only 7.2GB of storage, making it a great second game to install for when you want a quick blast. I would recommend this FPS to anyone, especially at a price of under a dollar. This is a great game if you want some classic shooter fun.
