This $25 controller would be my choice for Cyber Monday if I had to scrape together the pennies after Black Friday
8BitDo has answered my gaming prayers time and again. It did it with the 8BitDo Ultra 2C a little earlier this year, which I received a few months ago and have enjoyed ever since.
Rocket League is my main game, but I have tried it in other games and I am still baffled. I'm still baffled by 8BitDo's pricing, even at its full retail price. It is hard to believe that 8BitDo could sell a controller with such great performance and looks for so little. Then it knocks off a few bucks and sells the Mint edition for $25 on Amazon.

Let's start by describing what this controller actually has: Hall effect sticks that prevent stick drift, hall effect triggers, Bluetooth, USB-C charging and 1,000 Hz 2.4GHz connection.
Don't you agree that this controller has a lot of great features? It's a bargain compared to the more expensive mainstream competitors, such as the Xbox standard controller, our current choice for the best gaming control overall. The latter is not rechargeable. You have to replace the batteries and buy its (expensive wireless dongle) separately.
The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C is rechargeable, and it comes with a dongle that's no slouch either thanks to its 1,000Hz polling. Other controllers offer similar features at a lower price, like the GameSir Nova Lite. However, the Nova Lite lacks the extra shoulder buttons, and only has half the battery life.
The Ultimate 2C is a fantastic controller, even on paper. It feelswell beyond its price tag. It is more like the Xbox controller.
I spent an evening switching between the Xbox controller and the 8BitDo to air dribble (ok, tryingto do so) in Rocket League. The Xbox One is heavier and feels more premium than the 8BitDo, but it's not that far away. The ABXY buttons and triggers are much more responsive than the Xbox controller. The DPAD feels nice, but it's not as satisfyingly clicky.
There's also that dazzling splash of orange and mint with a pinky-peach underneath. Even though I don't usually like colourful gear, I couldn't resist this. If you prefer another colour scheme, you'll still have to pay $30 for the full price.
If I had some money left over from Black Friday, and wanted to treat my self for Cyber Monday, I would probably go for the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C.
