Black Friday gaming PC sales are sure to be plentiful. I'm sure many people will consider switching to PC gaming during the holiday season. I'd bet that a good chunk of you will also be looking to upgrade your old rigs for something cheaper that can still handle modern games.
If this sounds like you, then the Yeyian Yumi gaming computer is for you. Newegg offers a gaming computer that can handle any modern game for just $700. The RTX 40 series is still a great deal, even though we're about launch a new generation GPUs.

This particular Yeyian builds manages to keep the prices low by choosing a 12-core Intel CPU (all of which are P-Cores), the Core i5-12400F, and a lower end current-gen graphics cards in the form the Nvidia GeForce RTX-4060. This, plus some wizardry that I can't understand, is why $700 is so cheap for an entry level build like this.
The Core i5-12400F and RTX-4060 combo is also nothing to be ashamed of. The CPU may not be the best for productivity tasks, but it will be enough to keep the RTX 4060 chugging in games, and should also be fine for everyday multitasking. While the RTX 4060 may not be the best graphics card available, it is capable of handling modern games, provided you are willing to tweak your settings in the latest titles.
The RTX isprimarily a card for 1080p games, as it can run them at 60 fps, but it struggles to do so in higher resolutions. It can also handle 1440p thanks to DLSS 3 frame-generation in games that support it, and regular DLSS scaling in those that do not.
You can't expect smooth framerates at high or maximum settings in the most beautiful games at 1440p if upscaling, frame generation and/or upscaling are not enabled. You'll want to play around with settings in less demanding games as well to find the right balance between performance and visual quality.
The rest of your PC, the less exciting parts, is perfectly adequate for gaming and everyday use. You won't be able to run many apps in the background when you play a game with 16 GB DDR4-3200 memory, but you can still do it if you de-bloat your system before you start a game. A 1 TB SSD will be a good value for this price, but it's the minimum we recommend for a gaming system these days.
If you have the money, you might want to check out some of the Black Friday gaming PC offers that are a bit higher on the price scale. This Yeyian Yumi Gaming PC is currently the cheapest gaming PC that can handle today's games. This would be my choice if I wanted to get into PC gaming on a budget this holiday season.
