Valve has finally acknowledged Deadlock after four months and hundreds of leaked gameplay video. Everyone you know has played it.

Since the first leaks of Deadlock in May, Valve has been in an odd limbo. It has hundreds and hundreds of gameplay videos, a subreddit that is open to the public, and a peak user count of more than 44,000, thanks to invites being passed out like candy, including to SteamDB, the tracking website for Steam. The studio has refused to acknowledge its existence until today. Deadlock now has its own Steam store page. We can finally talk about it, and share clips.

The Deadlock store is very bare-bones. You're better off watching the game on YouTube to get a feel for it. But it's . There's also a teaser, some key art in very low resolution, and plenty of reminders that Deadlock remains a work-in-progress. The topline description reads: "Deadlock, a multiplayer in early development." Early Development Build: Deadlock still in the early stages of development with lots temporary art and experimental gameplay. You can't wishlist it.

Gabe Follower, a Valve-focused Twitter account, shared a screenshot of the preview Discord to X "The Everything App." It's a Valve employee named Yoshi (I'm not sure if they're real Yoshi guys). He announces the lifting of the gag rule for the game:

"We will be allowing community websites and streaming to be used for discussion about Deadlock.

Our state of development is unchanged. We will remain invite-only, and continue to be at an early development stage. "

Although it's a welcome change, we've played Deadlock ourselves and would love to write about the game on PC Gamer.com, it doesn't really change anything about Deadlock. People have been playing it, watching it, and talking about. If you're lucky, you might get an invite from a friend. Now, it's time to wait for the most exciting part of the game - its own version of the old TF2 'Meet the Team' videos.
