Blasting alien scum, avoiding mines and meteors as you put up with the self-absorbed (yet hilarious) villains will bring out anybody's inner Alex Rogan.

While the game is short there is plenty of replay value with multiple levels, branching mission paths and different ways to beat the level. Impressive effects are mixed with great graphics and sounds in a complete package.

What it sometimes lacks in pacing and excitement it mostly makes up for in character and presentation. If you're at all a fan of the genre, and if you hate the Skurgians as much as we do, give this one a try.

Aces of the Galaxy is certainly not for everyone. Whilst the level of quality is clear and fun is certainly to be had, the game will scare off many with its fast and confusing style of gameplay.

I was surprised at how good this game was, yes it borrows heavily from Starfox, but that’s a good thing.

Aces of the Galaxy gets repetitive after a while, and the steep difficulty certainly isn’t for everyone, but those who are willing to enlist in a tough, fast, and intense shooter would do well to check this one out.

So mindlessly enjoyable that you'll soar right past those flaws.

The white-knuckle moments that fill the experience are a blast to share with another person. But it still doesn’t make the game any easier. The mad difficulty of the game is not only what will attract gamers of a certain ilk to its crazy action, it’s also what will turn some people off. But hey, it’s an XBLA title and one of the most impressive looking ones we’ve seen yet.

Despite the disappointment of the online mode, Aces of the Galaxy is a brilliantly crafted montage of many of gaming histories most successful titles.

Unless you're a huge fan of on-rail space shooters, and also enjoy being a completionist then you'll be disappointed with the lack of content in Aces of the Galaxy.

An XBLA title that is worth its weight in Gold Memberships. The frantic pace and satisfying gameplay will appeal to fans of space shooters. However, if you're not a particularly skilled gamer, or you've got carpal tunnel issues, I would suggest sticking to the surfeit of quality puzzlers on XBLA.

Aces of the Galaxy is a wild ride that isn't as dangerous a way to travel as it may first seem to be.

This space shooter isn't outstanding but offers a quick arcade fix.

I enjoyed it, and you might too, but your mileage may vary, depending on your tolerance for repetitiveness and a steep difficulty curve.

Aces of the Galaxy is a well-made and enjoyable 3D space shooter. Although it lacks a few desirable components and may not have great story depth or especially unique design, it is good for its pure arcade-style gameplay and can be played over and over.

There's enough frenzied destruction to entertain for an afternoon - just leave your brain at the door.

If you are a fan of shooters and are tired of getting your butt stomped in Ikaruga, then give Aces of the Galaxy a try.

Possibly due to the lack of any real danger/reward progression, or perhaps because of the inherent visual cacophony -- which hits even harder in the perfectly playable, yet crazily hectic, two-player multiplayer co-op game -- Galaxy eventually feels more than a bit repetitious.
