A very cool game indeed. Stacked up against other movie-based games, it can hold its own with the best of them an it actually makes me more interested in the upcoming film (free ticket or not).

Fact is, it's good. If you dig the Aeon franchise, Charlize's long, lithe getaway sticks, or third-person action games, check it out.

The detail in the setting is great. This goes for the architecture as well as the outside environments and the organic lifeforms.

Although the animation and framerate aren't as optimized as they could be (one of the qualities common to Terminal Reality's other titles) and some of the combat sequences can occasionally be frustrating, looking past Charlize Theron's digitized face reveals Aeon Flux to be finely in tune with its animated soul-and a darker, more artistically challenging thrill ride than players are usually privy to.

The close-quarters fighting system is by no means deep, but the inclusion of the style system and the takedown attacks makes for some interesting hand-to-hand scenarios. The acrobatic moves don't hurt either.

It's an interesting set up that's attempted, but in its execution it feels far too detached and fragmented to provide a satisfying narrative experience. Buy this game if you like well designed jumping puzzles mixed in with some decent combat sequences.

Combat is somewhat repetitive, though, and the game is more fun when she is jumping across chasms or rolling through tunnels.

A good romp, easily a step above the usual licensed junk that saturates the market around the holiday season. There just really isn't anything bad or good about Aeon Flux; it's a slightly above average game that doesn't really bring anything new to the table.

Game Informer May 10, 2024
Manages to transcend its problems with clever platforming and some interesting level designs.

GameSpot May 10, 2024
Heavy on style and light on coherency, but there's enough enjoyable action to keep things from flying apart at the seams.

Next Level Gaming May 10, 2024
It suffers because of its story. All of the twists and turns and never knowing what is really going on detracts from all of the cool moves and action the game provides.

The game might have inherited the movie's convoluted mess, but it is a somewhat decent adventure title, albeit marred by a frustrating control.

Amazing speed, fluid graphics.

In a world where death is as temporary as heartburn, nothing is out of bounds.

A somwhat confusing game that doesn't live up to the inspired madness of the animated series; it does however manage to be a whole lot better than some of the games featuring female heroes.

The combat isn't as good as it should be, which sadly lets down what is otherwise a solid acrobatic platformer with cunning puzzles, set in a dazzling futuristic world.

While the game's aesthetics and design is spot on to the franchises distinct style, gameplay teeters between fluidly fast-pace action and insanely difficult and tedious game segments.

Just like the plot of Aeon Flux, the game is sometimes brilliant, sometimes frustrating, and overall a bit on the confusing side of things.

Armchair Empire May 10, 2024
It is neither particularly offensive nor particularly engrossing, but for a licensed property, one could certainly do far worse.

Redundant or not, it's also worth pointing out that the whole game only takes ten hours - tops - to finish, and honestly, that's just long enough before the tedium begins to set in.
