An interesting take on the Metroidvania formula enriched with creative time manipulation.

AeternoBlade may not move the genre forward in any way, but it's a fun little game for action enthusiasts. It has a deep combat system, just the right amount of RPG elements, and an engaging enough narrative to keep things moving.

Aeterno Blade is Castlevania on a budget. Messy visuals, whiffy animation, endlessly recycled enemies, middling bosses.

Turns out Aeterno Blade is that kind of game which is filled with good intentions: it's interesting and engaging and it offers plenty of customization but once you hit the road not everything works as it should.

Overall this is a decent game with a deep combat system and some replay value if you want to explore the levels fully and find every hidden item. A weak story with a nasty potential glitch keep this game from being as good as it could have been. Fans of classic Castlevania games should especially enjoy this experience.

The game does not work as good as we think the dev team planned, but it offers some interesting ideas and does entertain. We recommend trying the demo first, since it might be a choice worth considering.

AeternoBlade offers decent combat, platforming and puzzles that involve its time manipulation mechanic. Unfortunately, it is lacking polish, and several cheap segments later in the game can lead to unnecessary frustration.

Although this modest, vintage flavoured production stands in the shadow of a glorious vampire slayer franchise, AertenoBlade reveals a sharp edge through time manipulation, these mechanics applying efficiently to the narrative, the puzzles and the gameplay.

Rather than the fast-paced, explorative action platformer with a cool time traveling twist, Aeternoblade turns out as a dull repetitive button mashing without much soul.

Another bland metroidvania game with nothing particularly exciting to offer. There are too many great alternatives to give this one a shot.

AeternoBlade isn't a bad game, it's just bland and occasionally frustrating.

AeternoBlade gets several points of the videogames textbook right but it doesn't go beyond that, almost as if the skeleton was enough to give a soul to a body. While technically competent, though far from impressive, this game offers very little to those already familiar with both action games and RPGs. Add to that a painstaking navigation through the off-play menus, and here's the formula for an overwhelmingly disappointing and frustrating experience.

This is a game with bad production, a weak story, a distant combat system and characters far from charismatic. All this makes for a boring and painful experience.
