Aggressive Inline Critic Reviews

The levels are so large they border on intimidating, yet it never gets dull exploring them thoroughly. And with a dozen skaters, hundreds of tricks, and infinite combinations of trick lines and combos, this is one of those rare games that has no end.

The gameplay is simple but never lacking, keeping me glued to the screen.

It's an impressive, enormous game that's as good as anything else out there in the extreme sports genre.

If action/sports is your thing, buying this game could be the smartest move you make all year.

Incredibly polished, and rivals anything with the Neversoft name on it. With tons of objectives, huge levels, great animation, and even jiggly boobs, Aggressive Inline is a game that no gamer should miss.

Perhaps the coolest gameplay addition to Aggressive Inline is the fact that you are no longer constricted by a 2-minute countdown clock in which to do objectives and rack up points. Rather, Inline relies on the ‘juice-meter” to determine how long you get to skate.

I find that Aggressive Inline is definitely one of the greats, and that it raises the bar for the genre. It's not revolutionary like the first THPS was, but it certainly offers higher replay value and more crazy places to trick from than any other game of its kind.

The audio portion of the game is well realized and adds a wonderful depth and flavor to the game, amplifying the experience.

The clear focus on fun over realism really makes this title stand out, and while the trick system may not be as deep as that of the competition, the focus on exploration and humor is a welcome alternative to hardcore combo dialing.

With all the right elements that make an incredible skating experience--including great graphics and decent controls--this is a game that should be in any sport’s fans library.

Despite some technical hiccups, Aggressive Inline still shines as one of the best and most challenging "extreme" titles on PS2.

The levels are massively, monstrously gargantuan.

The good news is that there’s a lot of environmental interaction, which affects AI’s gameplay.

After playing through the gorgeous levels, I couldn’t help but think that Z-Axis was becoming awfully close to being as good as Neversoft.

Z-Axis and Acclaim have done something really special here in that they’ve turned an absolutely mundane sport, like rollerblading, and turned it into an exciting and exhilarating experience that you won’t soon want to put down.

The nicest feature is the absense of a time limit within the game. This allows for a more seamless play experience, with not having to restart every 2-3 minutes.

Grinding through the seven gigantic levels at snappy speeds, you'll quickly--and happily--realize the controls are tighter than Ebenezer Scrooge's rectum.

Aside from the usual jump-trick combo gameplay, Inline contains innovative character actions that make virtual roller skating even more enjoyable to play.

Its innovations with regard to timed-run and in-level goal designs are sure to become trends used in the next generation of alternative sports games.
