All that being said, Alien Breed 2: Assault is a fun little game to play.

Overall I enjoyed my time with Alien Breed 2: Assault. It's a fun title to go through and going through it with a friend only increases the fun factor.

Alien Breed 2 continues the story of Conrad's fight against alien's in outer space and serves as a good pickup for any science fiction shooter fan.

The game will make a solid addition to anyone's game library and fans will eagerly await the final episode.

It's a small game that feels big while you are playing it, a laudable accomplishment for any downloadable title.

Alien Breed 2: Assault is solid, alien-splattering fun, and a real challenge to boot.

A tense and intimidating shooter.

Good, old fashioned hard core action with a whole lot of slimey aliens. Alien Breed 2: Assault is a little bit rough around the edges, but still plenty of good fun.

With an evident determination to cut the crap and get down to business, it's a tight, brutal no-nonsense corridor shooter. Completely predictable, but fun all the same.

Ultimately, Alien Breed 2: Assault is a decent addition to the Xbox Live Arcade Lineup. While there isn't much here in terms of innovation, Assault is a solid isometric shooter that offers fun for fans of the genre or a person looking for a simple shooter with a buddy.

Alien Breed 2: Assault is a decent game that suffers mostly from poor design. Levels feel much longer than they actually are, and repetition sets in far too soon.

Alien Breed 2: Assault presents the same dynamics of the original game trying to rejuvenate them. More guns, more aliens and a little more of variety give a new life to a classic brand.

The twin stick genre is one of the most abused on XBLA, and Alien Breed 2 doesn't do enough to stand from the crowd. A nice game, but far from being an essential purchase.

Alien Breed 2: Assault is a decent game and a fun co-op experience but there are some flaws.

It's unfortunate the game has a low play population as it's a decent title for the 800 Microsoft Points if you want to turn off your brain and just shoot a ton of aliens and I would have loved to get some more time in on the co-operative modes. If you enjoy the demo, then you'll most likely enjoy the full game just as much because it's going to be that same gameplay over and over throughout the campaign.

Unfortunately Alien Breed 2: Assault is not a big improvement unlike its predecessor. The co-op and survivor modes are very good, but the singleplayer is disappointing.

Gamestyle October 21, 2010
Although it costs 1200 Microsoft Points, Assault certainly offers more value for money than Impact, and just about gets the nod over its predecessor.

The controls and the visuals are good, but the game's main sin is not giving the user enough incentives to keep playing it.

A classic and rudimentary game in spirit, which we think will satisfy a very specific public looking exactly for that. But the rest should decide carefully and try before buying, as the game is as its demo, but for six hours instead of twenty minutes.

Alien Breed 2's major problem is that it feels dated. The gun-play is very simple and there's nothing clever bolted on top to make the game feel fresh. It's a smart looking game, and has some thrilling moments, but these days we expect more from our downloadable titles.
