The vibe of a decade long gone was not enough to make me happy. There
were moments when I had genuine fun, but almost every one of them was
quickly spoiled by dubious design choices, terrible AI or one of many
other flaws.

The gameplay that is hidden under the unwelcoming surface is not bad at all. American Theft 80s finally stands up as a thief simulation focused specifically on burglary practices. It doesn't excel, but it definitely offers more than it seems at first and maybe second glance.
