Of all the battle royale games available on mobile this ranks amongst the most polished, the most well-balanced and the most entertaining. It’s a big, complex, AAA experience that’s going to leave you with a massive grin on your face. Apex Legends Mobile is well worth checking out.

Apex Legends Mobile is an excellent adaptation and a must play for fans of mobile shooters. The new legend, Fade, is a fun addition to the roster, bringing much to the table with fun and exciting abilities. Very easy to drop in (pun intended) for a few games on the go.

By offering a fun and well-designed core gameplay loop, Apex Legends Mobile succeeds at bringing the popular battle royale title to mobile. A good supply of features and game modes as well as the controls ensure that fans of the game can enjoy Apex Legends on the go from now on.

Apex Legends Mobile does a fantastic job of converting one of the biggest, and for my money the best, battle royale shooter to smartphone. A great batch of characters are included to start, it's comprehensive in the modes it supports, and does a decent job of converting the gameplay to work with touch controls. More than that, it makes sensible gameplay tweaks and introduces a number of mobile-specific features and improvements.

Apex Legends Mobile may be lacking maps and Legends, but it does an excellent job of translating the squad-based battle royale formula to mobile devices. It’s fun and frantic, and is a great way for newcomers to jump into the franchise while offering a unique appeal for veterans, too.

There are definitely issues that need to be ironed out in terms of the battle royale gameplay quality, but whether you’re in it for the new TDM mode, exclusive Legend, third-person option, or even just some new cosmetics, there’s bound to be something here that gets players excited — or interested, at the very least.

Apex Legends Mobile is able to differentiate itself enough from its original version to make it worth checking out for both fans and newcomers. However, its restricted movement and touchscreen controls might make it offputting for those not comfortable with mobile shooters.

This mobilized version of Respawn Entertainment's hit battle royale game feels manageable and easy to jump into without losing virtually any depth.

Apex Legends Mobile showcases Respawn’s skill in creating unique and polished FPS experiences even on a mobile platform. While the controls are a bit lacking, Apex Mobile sets the bar for mobile FPS games with its ability to keep Apex’s iconic movement mechanics and core unique battle royale experience intact.

It’s noticeably harder precision aiming sniper rifles, giving shorter range fully automatic guns an advantage, but its roster of 10 legends unlocks more quickly than it did on PC and console, and matches have the requisite speed and tension. A solid start.

Apex Legends Mobile is one of the best mobile ports out there, but if we’re comparing it to the original, it can still bring something new to the table. The controls can be a bit challenging at the start, but the game itself looks really beautiful and runs smoothly. To top it all off, the players even get some new content and features, like exclusive legends, game modes, and more.

Apex Legends is a complex game to transport to smartphones, yet Respawn Entertainment has succeeded: Apex Legends Mobile it isn't perfect, it remains an interesting and original stand-alone product.

There may be some growing pains as Respawn balances the game and tweaks it even further for touch screen controls, but between its Battle Royale and Team Deathmatch modes, it'll keep players entertained for quite some time.

Apex Legends Mobile is exactly what's being advertised: This is Apex Legends, but on mobile devices. This means Respawn has made some serious concessions to its battle royale in order to make the whole thing work, especially when it comes to visuals and performance. And not all of the new additions to the formula, like Team Deathmatch, add anything compelling. But the perk system and first mobile-exclusive legend create a strong draw for Apex Legends Mobile existing alongside Apex Legends as a companion game. If you want to play Apex Legends on the go, this fulfills that need. Just don't come into it thinking this is the best way to play Respawn's battle royale game.

Aside from the monetisation, Apex Legends Mobile is a great distillation of the full game, with clever adaptations and quality of life updates to Legend abilities and game modes that make the battle royale shine on the smallest screen. For players transitioning from console or PC, controller support will be practically necessary, but players coming from other mobile games will have an easier time adapting.

A cluttered control screen can be a pain, but sync up a controller and Apex Legends Mobile is the real deal.
