Army Men: Sarge's Heroes 2 Critic Reviews

The gaming equivalent of a four-day candy and soda binge: nothing substantive, you know it's terrible for you, and you'll hate yourself afterwards. In fact, you hate yourself while it's going on, but it's such tasty junk that you just can't stop.

Goofy brain-dead fun that's hard to resist when played in the proper mood.

Not great, but certainly playable.

Can be fun at times, but overall the game play is merely average compared with other PlayStation 2 offerings.

The fun is there for a few minutes, and then becomes tiresome.

You will find this game most enjoyable, but lacking the visual and audio flare you’ve come to know and love out of your PS2.

The best the series has to offer, but that's not saying much. The gameplay is frustrating, the graphics are average, and there are plenty of bugs that have not been addressed.

I'm talking about throw-your-damn-controller-clean-through-a-slab-of-drywall frustrating.

A pretty vast improvement over the PSOne version, but numerous technical and gameplay problems that were apparent then return to mar the experience, making a mighty big mess of what's still a promising idea.

A bad game. Bad deeds deserve punishment, so I vote to have the entire Army Men development team plastifricated for unleashing this "game" onto the world.

This is 3D action-adventure at its most generic. It doesn't help that the PS2 version seems to be suffering from some weird bugs in its control and level scripting.

The relatively decent graphics, fine character animation and easy gameplay make Sarge's Heroes 2 a surprisingly playable Army Men game, but that isn't saying much.

The action tends to get repetitive, which is not helped by the lack of enemy variety.

A flat third-person shooter that feels like a bad Nintendo 64 game, with poor level design and gameplay and some of the worst graphics and sound seen on the PlayStation 2, not to mention the bucket full of flaws that it holds within.
