Summary

Water sources go dry. Plants wither and die. All creatures thirst and starve. The blue oceans turn to sand, and the life of the sea no longer has a place to call home. Yet still, the sun continues to shine, mercilessly drying up what little water remains in the earth. Slowly, but surely, everything fades away to nothing in this Dusk World.

Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea DX represents the ending of the Dusk Trilogy and of the three games in this effort, it represents the best and the most accessible title of all. With its improvements and updates to gameplay mechanics, Atelier Shallie more than justifies its recommendation within the Nintendo Switch catalogue, even if the plot requires knowing the previous two games but that's not an impediment at all.

Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea DX culminates this trilogy into an experience I can finally recommend. If you’re looking for a good Atelier title, then look no further, but JRPG veterans will still probably find it too simple.

Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea DX is a refined adventure that ends the trilogy on a higher note than it began. However, it brings with it the same vapidity and monotony that inspired me to hold down the fast-forward option through the final half of the experience.
