ATV Offroad Fury 3 Critic Reviews

Once again delivers solid gameplay mechanics mixed in with numerous unlockable features and plenty of racing potential.

Easily the best ATV racer in existence and it also represents a sizeable, appreciated step forward for the franchise and online console gaming in general.

Really combines all of the necessary ingredients to make a solid online mode.

In addition to virtually lag free racing (broadband), there's full support for player rankings, chat, voice, and even clans.

While ATV Offroad Fury 3 has limited, basic modes, it really does shine when it comes down to the raw gameplay.

By far the best of the series, and it never seems to get old. It is one of those games that you can load up and just have a damn good fun time with.

A solid racing title with great environments, ATV Offroad Fury 3 features options galore and challenge.

The massive environments and familiar textures are all along for the ride, and there are some nifty environmental effects like snow, rain, dust, and mud to contend with.

Plenty of variety and a wild sense of speed combined with tight control equals fun for the whole family.

Enough like its predecessors that if ATV or ATV 2 didn't appeal to you, then ATV 3 isn't likely to change your mind. However, ATV fans will be quite happy with the latest game in the series.

A fine ATV racing title with enough modes to please gamers for many hours, excellent online with little lag, a respectable graphics engine and decent soundtrack.

As far as audio goes, the game is a mixed bag of licensed music.

Collision detection between ATVs can be a little strange at times especially in the mini-games.

Has its moments, but in the end it is just another driving game. Jumping around the tracks is fun for a while, but there is little incentive to keep on playing.

While the single-player modes are merely OK is in its multiplayer and online modes that this third Offroad Fury game earns its worth.

The online experience was definitely the most fun aspect of game as a whole. Over a broadband connection lag was practically non-existent, but the biggest hook is racing against other non-CPU riders.

A more robust career mode with sponsorships, cash prizes, and a tournament-style atmosphere with rivalries would be nice as well, but those in the mood for a challenging, fast-paced racer -- online or off -- won't be disappointed.

Fast and frenetic, ATVOF3 is a great title, so much so that we can forgive the occasional restart from behind an unmovable obstacle.

Taking an obvious cue from Xbox Live, the online mode is seriously user-friendly, providing tons of community-building tools—the polar opposite of Offroad Fury 2's laughable online attempt.

The framerate is pretty good, but occasionally it really gets hiccupy when there’s too much going on, and it can get frustrating, especially if it happens mid-jump or while you’re preloading, which can really screw up your timing.
