Never becoming too complex, Avatar blends the right amount of kung-fu air-bending action along with story telling and adventuring.

Experienced gamers aren't likely to find enough depth or challenge here to interest them for very long, and the lack of multiplayer in any capacity and the less-than-creative Wii-specific mechanics are disappointments. However, for the game's younger target audience, there is a fun, easy going action RPG and lighthearted storyline waiting to be discovered.

A solid introduction to the action RPG genre, especially if they enjoy the series. Older gamers may be bored of the somewhat repetitive fighting and the very light RPG elements, however.

One thing that I did find on the game that really annoyed me was a save point that would always freeze up my game as it was saving.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is, while not a horrible game, not nearly as good as it could have been. Unless you’re a die-hard fan of the show, choose "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" instead.

Avatar is a game that younger kids will want, but with the faulty execution of the special moves, could upset younger gamers.

If you like the show, you won't mind playing through the game to see what antics Aang and crew get themselves into in the game's original story. You'll just wish the game's shortcomings didn't get in the way.

A multiplayer co-op option would have been perfect for Avatar, but is sadly missing. Where the action becomes repetitive and tiresome, playing with friends would have at least added some opportunity to develop different strategies for larger melees and boss battles.

Avatar shows a lot of promise, but falls into a repetitive mash of the same thing over and over.

Avatar: The Last Airbender had the potential to be an enjoyable game for both children and adults but most of that potential went untapped, and the extremely repetitive and tedious gameplay isn't likely to appeal to either audience.

Button-mashing with a few RPG-ish stats thrown in. More of a light breeze than a huge hurricane; don't expect to be blown away by this title.

The game rarely represents the Nickelodeon show well, sometimes lacking satisfying collision detection during combat, featuring sparse voice work and facial animation, and omitting a multiplayer mode altogether.

It's a middle of the road standard game for children, with little imagination but reasonably solid gameplay. If you like that sort of thing, leap on in.

Gamers looking for a cool action-RPG with some anime style will be let down. The only way we can absolutely recommend this game is if you love Avatar: The Last Airbender as much as you do breathing.

The whole game is plodding and repetitive, and it doesn't have a single redeeming quality.
