It is not about the known camera issues that cause several headaches or the short story. It is not about what this game should be and what has become of it. Itʼs about the very essence of gaming, the essence that draws a permanent smile on your face while playing this masterpiece!

Even if you have played it before, you will be amazed how good it still is. It is a wonderful trip down memory lane. Here is to hoping we get to finally see the sequel we have been waiting for all these years.

If you're among the majority of gamers who didn't play Beyond Good & Evil when it originally came out for PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube, you have no excuse for passing up its new form.

Beyond Good & Evil was ahead of its time in 2003, and it fits 2011 like a glove. This is still a great game that's unquestionably deserving of your $10 – especially if you missed it the first time. Admittedly, it's showing its age, but it's less like a disgusting chunk of old cheese and more like a glass of fine wine.

Wacky characters, inspired design and engrossing gameplay make Beyond Good & Evil HD as relevant today as it was eight years ago. Do yourself a favour and grab a copy.

The definitive version of the game, thanks to a streamlined menu system and improved character models.

Beyond Good & Evil gives gamers a timeless cast filled with originality, depth, and memorable lines including the "Chili con carne" battle-cry.

A great remake of an overlooked classic, and one of the few games that can survive close comparison with The Legend Of Zelda and retain a style all of its own.

Beyond Good & Evil has been lauded ever since its first release, and is the defining example of a game that didn't get the commercial success it deserved. It's still a fantastic game, and at this price its one of the best digital purchases you can make.

The passion that BG&E inspires makes it too easy to gloss over the flaws - it'll take you a while to get used to the hyper-sensitive camera, the acting is choppy, and Jade's fighting style is uninspired. But this is a game in which killing comes second to the story, puzzles, the world, and the characters - it's 10-15 hours of genuinely compelling pleasure.

Most pleasing of all is the cost. At a time when many downloadable games are sliding up to the 1200 MS Points barrier, the 800-Point price tag for this much-beloved classic shows that a little generosity can go a long way.

An undeniable classic - and, for once, one not showing the ravages of age. If only the letters "H" and "D" signified something more than numbers.

The game maintains its virtues intact: good plot, great gameplay and an attractive artistic design. The technical improvements also help it narrow the time gap between today and the original's release.

This is a title that should have done a lot better in sales, but unfortunately because of the circumstances it didn't become as popular as it should have. Critical acclaim sometimes doesn't cut it, but I sure hope with an HD upgrade and being available to download will bring this great title to some more gamers to thoroughly enjoy, if not for the first time but for nostalgia's sake.

If you have never played Beyond Good & Evil, then you owe it to yourself to see why those that had, would go on and on about it. If you have played the game before and loved it, then you will be wanting that teased and rumoured sequel that appeared to be dead in the water. Buy this, show Ubisoft that we are ready for a new game. Regardless of anything, buy it because you know you want to play it again in glorious HD.

It's not a perfect game - there are some flaws to its core mechanics, but the overall experience is so much greater than those few faults that you owe it to yourself to at least give it a shot - especially at $10.

It isn't often that you can compare videogames with wine by saying they get better with age, but in this circumstance it works. The unique blend of gameplay mechanics make Beyond Good and Evil a game unlike anything available for the 360 today.

A number of factors made this game a sales loser when it came out, but the passionate cult that gave it its high-quality reputation has a legitimate chance to grow now with improved graphics and a budget price as a downloadable game.

A great porting of a beautiful game, and a great deal for its price too: if you never played it before, it's a must buy. And even if you already apreciated it seven years ago, you'll really enjoy going back to Hillys in its revamped look.
