Black Myth: Wukong smashes Elden Ring's and Cyberpunk2077's Steam player records with 1.2 millions and counting

It didn't seem to take long.

Currently, the most-wishlisted Steam game is also the most-played one. More than 1,249 525 people have played Black Myth: Wukong in less than two hours since its launch. This puts it in the hall of fame of Steam launches.

SteamDB reports that it has already surpassed a list of elite games, including Hogwarts: Legacy with 879,000 copies, Elden Ring with 953,000 copies, and Cyberpunk2077 at 1.054 millions, according to SteamDB.

It will likely pass Dota 2 by the time you read this article. The bigger question is if Black Myth will be able to surpass the concurrent numbers set by PUBG and Palworld in January 2018 and 2024 respectively.

It seems possible. Both games have the benefit of being multiplayer. However, Black Myth has already been racking up numbers before noon, in China, while the rest of the globe is asleep. It's only going up.
