Larian released a trailer for the new evil endings that will be included in the next patch of Baldur's Gate 3, and they didn't play around with the evil part.

Next month, Baldur’s Gate 3 will receive its eagerly anticipated Patch 7. This patch includes dynamic splitscreen for co-op, an official modder’s toolkit, and - most importantly for some unrepentant sickos - expanded and improved endings. Larian released a new teaser earlier today for one of Dark Urge's evil endings.

Spoilers ahead for Baldur's Gate 3 final act.

In the 52-second-long video, the Dark Urge is shown as their albino default dragonborn, standing high above Baldur's gate in ruins, atop a subdued Netherbrain after the game's final confrontation, which ended with the Dark Urge assuming control of the Netherbrain, and the cult the Absolute.

The Dark Urge turns their side to where three of their companions are standing--in this case, Shadowheart, Lae’zel, and Wyll. The Dark Urge closes and opens a fist to produce the telltale psionic pulsation of illithid dominance around their companions' heads. The Dark Urge commands his companions via the yoked Netherbrain. He sweeps his fist in a gesture towards the burning city below. This forces their companions to move closer to the edge of the platform. The Dark Urge opens his hand almost as if it were an invitation to the companions, who are staring helplessly down at the drop.

The camera pulls away to reveal the three companions as they plunge to their deaths in silence. The narrator announces, "Time for the Final Act," as the Dark Urge take their place on the precipice. "Your tragedy is now the tragedy of mankind." The video ends with Dark Urge leaning towards their own fall.

Now, if it was me, I simply wouldn't offer up myself and three of my boon-companions in a ritual triple-murder-suicide to, I'm guessing, take Bhaal's place as an avatar of murder incarnate. I'm more into things that are opposite to that. But I won't deny the teaser film is very well choreographed. There's a eerie serenity in the Dark Urge. The sharp violin skirls in the soundtrack and the fact that there are inert mind flayers floating around in the distance make it even more unsettling.

I can only assume that it will get worse from there, based on the glimpses Larian has already provided for the new evil ends. It almost makes a man want to play BG3 again for another six dozen or so hours.

Patch 7 will be released for Baldur's Gate 3 in September.
