Full of options, it's complex and very entertaining. It's not the same game we've played on PC or consoles, but still a great choice if you're looking for a strategy/RPG/action game on iOS.

Borderlands Legends is a standalone game that is neither a gimmicky socially connected tie-in with Borderlands 2, nor is it an ambitious attempt at a port of the console games. It does hit all the Borderlands notes from the art style to the weapon variety to the abilities, just with a stripped down design.

Borderlands Legends is a good idea dragged down by its inconsistent execution and lack of content.

BL's ace style is weighed down by unwieldy gameplay.

Borderlands Legends may walk and talk like a tactical shooter, but it drowns out the tactical aspect with clunky controls, divorcing it from the action-packed FPS that gave it life.

Borderlands Legends is a complete waste of a stellar IP, offering clunky action-strategy fare and paying mere lip service to the series's core strengths.

Borderlands Legends is a sub-par strategy RPG that most fans of the series will tolerate, but non-fans shouldn't bother with.

It's still a monotonous and unexciting slog through a game that plays out like a stuck record, and even the most hardcore of Borderlands fans will find little of interest, lacking as it does the series' trademark personality.

Borderlands Legends is a prime example of the dangers of taking a popular game series and handing it to developers who are unfamiliar with where the original game comes from, where it's going, and what has made the it successful.

A mediocre game trying to sneak by on the coattails of greatness.

Borderlands Legends is a nice little extra for the Borderlands-universe, but that's it. Its strategic take on the shooter action we've come to know and love should warrant its existence. Unfortunately Borderlands Legends is plagued by bugs and bad programming choices that really prevents players from enjoying it.

Unworthy of its own name, this game will tear your patience apart with a lot of glitches and a disturbing lack of polish in touch recognition and AI development. It's not worthy of your money or your time.

Borderlands Legends doesn't live up to the Borderlands family name. The game could've been good, since it fits perfectly in the Borderlands style. However the game never succeeds in finding the right balance between shooting and tactical gameplay. Also the game is never really challenging and has some annoying technical issues.

In theory, it should be awesome, but in practice nothing works like it should. Legends is a sloppy, unimaginative game that isn't ready for primetime.

With a more focused campaign and some extra work to iron out control bugs, and Borderlands Legends could have shown promise.

If I worked at Gearbox, it would break my heart to see my dearest franchise abused in this way.

With its simple approach to mimicking Borderlands on a console, the broken control system and lack of variety, Borderlands Legends feels like a missed opportunity and a bit of a cash-in, relying on the name alone to sell the game.
