Gamer's Hell April 29, 2024
It offers a very nice graphical engine, great voices and sound effects, and an incredibly addictive and intense story line.

If you can suck it up long enough to get to the main menu you will find a very unique shooter with a mix of squad and personal combat that ranges from ground to air to space. Breed is a refreshing diversion from a game like Halo but it’s certainly no substitute.

Aside from some frustrating quirks and unrefined space missions, Breed is a good shooter that offers "Halo" fans a veritable add-on pack.

Your teammates, who are supposed to be an asset, are more of a nuisance then support. They won’t take defensive positions well and are easily picked off.

IGN April 29, 2024
While the vehicle combat is pretty fun, it's still brought back down a few times by design flaws and some odd AI behavior. The missions on foot are marred by poor squad AI, and the solo foot missions can only be so good when the enemy AI is still simplistic.

It's good, yes, but not brilliant.

If it weren't for random crashes and long start ups, the game would have been much more enjoyable.

But Breed is worse than awful; it's absolutely unremarkable and utterly forgettable, the epitome of the generic computer game, lacking a shred of anything clever or offensive or ambitious.

ActionTrip April 29, 2024
In a nutshell, while I had some fun with the vehicles and the massive scale of some of the battles, AI bugs, stupid design decisions and awful sounds coupled with dated graphics really didn't help me to immerse myself in it at all.

Game Informer April 29, 2024
Until a patch can resolve the glaring flaws, this isn't worth your time, much less your money.

Graphics and sound are impressive enough, but we have come to expect more than that from top new releases, and when the poor AI is factored in, Breed looks less and less appealing. Get your FPS fix elsewhere!

Adrenaline Vault April 29, 2024
Solid graphics and music, decent level design and clever use of vehicles. The Achilles' heel is clearly the squad mate artificial intelligence, which virtually ruins the whole play experience.

A very average FPS, hurt by terrible AI and more than its share of glitches.

GameSpot April 29, 2024
The only thing Breed has going for it is its wide variety of vehicles. But in a game with so many serious problems, it's hard to enjoy them for long.

Warcry April 29, 2024
I didn’t enjoy Breed very much at all, mostly because of the gameplay issues that creatively cut short an already generic storyline. I also just didn’t care for the way the missions were laid out.

Don't even bother going online. The game is virtually unplayable.

A ham-fisted and passionless retreat of "Halo."

G4 TV April 29, 2024
What makes this whole fiasco all the more depressing is that Breed has a ton of potential.

Thunderbolt April 29, 2024
The saddest part about Breed is not that it’s a horrible game; it’s that deep inside there’s a good game. All of the ideas were right, but the execution failed on nearly all aspects.

Inspired moments, such as the vehicles' mulitple weapons systems, are forced from the mind by the relentless slogs across the levels... In the end, you're likely to discover that the real battle is to continue playing.
