The new Call of Duty Zombies is a blast: players can go bowling, become superheroes, or craft jet guns.
Call of Duty Zombies is a hit this year. Black Ops 6 is a real hit with the PvE fans.
The bizarre Zombies clips that are flooding my social media feeds look like a different series. Even when compared with older Call of Duty Zombies mode, which was just a regular horde defence mode with some cute Easter Eggs.
Note: Zombies Easter Eggs are appearing online everywhere. If you'd rather see them for yourself, don't continue reading.
My favorite discovery is absurd, but is only considered "side Easter eggs" by Zombies experts. On the Liberty Falls map, there's a comics store with a statue depicting the hero Aetherella. The statue is a laser-firing zombie trap, but it can also be used as an Aetherella statue.
According to YouTuber Glitching queen, if you find every Aetherella figurine in the map, it will temporarily turn one player into a life-sized statue equipped with laser eyes. You can move around and melt through zombies in statue form. I haven't played Zombies for long, but I'm going to guess that Aetherella is one of the most powerful power-ups. It's a pity (but reasonable) that it lasts only a few moments.
You can't reach any of the Aetherella figurines unless you first craft Liberty Fall's wonder gun: the Thrustodyne, or "jetgun," as some players have called it. The 6-step process of crafting the giant cannon will take you a while, but the effort is worth it: the jet cannon can unmake anything in its path and its alt-fire mode is a vacuum can pick up items that are otherwise impossible to reach.
I'm assuming that most of the secrets in CoD Zombie are found by picking up or shooting hidden objects. Once you find the bowling shoes and Mister Peeks (a grungy, stuffed rabbit that has killed a man) manages the haunted alley, your squad will be teleported there. Maka91Productions showed that it has a bowling minigame where players are challenged to knock down as many undead as possible while they shuffle down the lanes.
I can't imagine how much effort went into this secret, which most players won't ever see. It would have been one thing to create a bowling alley that had a button to shoot balls down the lane. But, the bowling ball is actually a fully modeled animated weapon that you can pick up and charge before rolling. The minigame can be played competitively or in co-op. However, if you reach a certain score threshold with your team, they will receive upgraded weapons.
A new sports-related secret has been discovered on the Terminus Island Map. Smartguy316, a streamer, discovered a basketball that was on the roof of an apartment building in Terminus. When shot at the correct angle, the ball bounces off the roof into a hoop located on the other side. This causes fireworks to be triggered and gives players 2,000 points free for upgrades and unlocking maps. It's a great way to start a Zombies game.
I get a little jealous when I see the attention to detail and fun Treyarch has in designing their escape room-like map. Why is standard multiplayer, which is my favorite CoD mode, so serious in comparison? I think that every 6v6 map needs a 10-step puzzle. The person who solves it gets an instakill weapon for the remainder of the match.
Unbalanced? It would be unbalanced, but instantly the most interesting part of Black Ops 6's multiplayer.
