If there’s a redeeming factor to the game, it’s that it’s a bargain at £19.99, considering you get the original Chaos League too. If you like your sports games with a touch of evil and a pinch of sadism, then you’ll definitely want to check it out.

Cyanide (the developer) has won an environmental award for recycling but I’m not sure if this is a good thing. Given time, Sudden Death is a game you’ll grow to like but the initial learning curve and interface issues might throw a lot of people off before the game can demonstrate its unique charms.

Much improvement, but still a little lacking.

You don't have to shun your precious sporting affections, just widen them enough to see Chaos League: Sudden Death standing at the touchline, waving a meat cleaver in your face.

While Chaos League: Sudden Death is an intriguing take on fantasy tactical sports, the effort required to get going coupled with the repetitiveness which starts to creep in after a tournament or two will dissuade many. In all, it's a bit of a missed opportunity to polish up a flawed, but novel, piece of entertainment.

Once you’ve played a couple of matches, you’ve pretty much seen everything that the game has to offer, and you’ll certainly have heard everything that it’s got to say.

Sudden Death much like its predecessor is a confusing experience; if you have fond memories of unique Amiga titles then it’s likely you’ll find a yearning desire to struggle through the game, however even then it’s likely to cause more frustrations then moments of enjoyment.
