Chernobylite is special. If you enjoy RPGs that feature things like crafting, base building, team management, and heists, the ambitious Chernobylite is one that you won’t want to miss.

Chernobylite is a solid game with a thoughtful story, enjoyable characters, memorable scares, and amazing design. You have freedom in the directions you want to go with crafting and leveling up, and the narrative choices you make feel meaningful. The game keeps you constantly engaged, as it always feels like there’s an important mission to complete or something to take care of around the base. The mystery is fascinating all the way to the end, and the main narrative doesn’t overstay its welcome, feeling spot on at a tight 20-ish hours. If you’ve ever wanted to tour the Chernobyl area but were afraid of the radiation, here’s your ticket to some of the sites, with some monsters tossed in to keep things lively (or deadly). So what are you afraid of?

Chernobylite was a surprise for me. A game with addictive gameplay, interesting sci-fi plot, substantial role playing options and plenty of replayability. I definitely recommend a purchase to those interested in this type of game, but also to players who would like to try something different from the usual.

Chernobylite weaves together a strong narrative, compelling characters and highly detailed environments to deliver a glowing (pun intended) entry into the sci-fi survival horror RPG genre.

The combat too is a little easy on the normal setting, where the danger seems to lessen the more you play. The small-ish levels also become repetitive after a while, and need a bit more variety. Even as the world around you becomes more unstable, Chernobylite’s awe does wane a little. But setting aside all of that, Chernobylite presents a memorable story set in an endlessly fascinating locale. One that is as ambitious as it is immersive. The choices you get to make and unmake stick with you and, well, it all makes for an unforgettable journey into the Exclusion Zone.

If you love the atmosphere of Eastern European survival games but hate the jank, Chernobylite is for you. Its cycle of scavenging and questing is addicting, and its characters are fun to meet. But that also means it becomes too easy once you get a feel for the controls and mechanics. Add that with a story that isn’t scary, and you have a flawed game with an engaging core. It held my attention during its full runtime, and I can’t say that for a lot of games.

Chernobylite is a Sci-Fi RPG with survival horror elements set in a post-nuclear Chernobyl. You are Igor, a Physician who worked for the nuclear reactor 30 years ago, searching for his beloved girlfriend vanished after the infamous explosion. You will travel from past to present, warping on virtual worlds too, collecting clues, recruiting allies and running away from fearful monsters. If you liked Stalker, Metro and Fallout games, Chernobylite is a must buy.

Chernobylite is a unique approach to the world and aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster. The narrative is so compelling that it keeps your eyes glued to the screen, and the level of detail is absolutely mesmerizing. Though it does get bogged down with mundanity and repetition, the moments of interest outweigh the moments of boredom. If you want an immersive experience with an intricate plot, Chernobylite makes a good case for itself.

Chernobylite's mixed collection of gameplay styles comes together beautifully. The narrative is engaging, the world is atmospheric, combat is solid , and the base building is decent. It may not be a STALKER game, and it's eclectic collection of elements are integrated with varying degrees of success, but Chernobylite offers a worthy replacement, full of its own charms and quirks that will allow it to stand on its own two feet.

Chernobylite's great survival horror gameplay, top-notch atmosphere, and excellent audiovisual presentation make it a must-play title for any fan of games like STALKER.

Chernobylite is an excellent experience based on the real 1986 tragedy. A game where survival is the key element, around which the other management, role-playing and horror mechanics revolve, for a mix that works.

Chernobylite is, in essence, a small jewel, embellished by the maniacal care with which The Farm 51 reproduces the places of the real Chernobyl disaster, enslaving them to the playful-narrative needs of the production. Unfortunately, the eclectic mix of mechanics is not perfectly balanced and this leads to perhaps too much dilution of the gaming experience which should, on the contrary, be more rendered and a little more rhythmic. The journey to the contaminated zone, however, is highly recommended.

Chernobylite offers a deep survival game experience that offers elements of sci-fi, horror and RPG. It’s hard to call this a survival horror title, but all the management aspects and the branching storylines will provide fans of the survival genre plenty to enjoy. There are only a handful of areas to go to and while they’re decent sized, enemies tend to respawn in the same location upon returning to the location. The atmosphere could have gone a different direction, but the visuals and environments are undeniably effective. The visual design in the portals in particular are something to marvel at. With a structured base of a game with varying options to keep players coming back, Chernobylite is worth checking out.

In case someone was disappointed by the lack of freedom in The Medium, let it be known that Chernobylite brings much more leeway in terms of gameplay, while offering equally pretty graphics and dark atmosphere. Until the second S.T.A.L.K.E.R. arrives, there is no better game for visiting Chernobyl.

Chernobylite is an excellent narrative RPG that will totally please players in need of post-apocalyptic settings. It certainly isn't a revolution, as its combats and crafting systems feel very familiar, but it has a few mechanics that hit the mark and a great story with a powerful ending.

Even tho comparing Chernobylite with titles like Metro and STALKER seems inevitable, in order to really feel and connect with Chernobylite you'll have to judge it on its own merits. Chernobylite is not a 1st person shooter and if you expect action packed gameplay with tons of firework from it you will be disappointed. But if you are looking for an atmospheric adventure survival game where every choice makes a difference, Chernobylite will definitely satisfy you.

Chernobylite offers an exciting story in a unique world that loses little of its fascination despite repetitive missions.

Chernobylite may not be the deepest survival game or the most competent stealth/ shooter game, but it nevertheless completely hooked us in its Chernobyl setting as well as its mature story and characters, culminating in an excellently crafted final mission.

The choices made by Igor during his journey truly matter, and despite some rough edges and certain aspects of the experience feeling a bit underdeveloped, I loved my time with Chernobylite and would recommend spending time with Igor and his crew to anyone.

Bizarre but beautiful indeed, Chernobylite is an amalgamation of various genres in one captivating game that you wouldn’t think could pull it off as well as it does. Its missions offer much of the same over the time and its combat could use some work, but its world gives you enough diverse events, objectives, and live challenges that keep you thinking ahead. Plus, add to that its 3D scanned world of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and you get an ambitious game that blends fiction with reality and offers you an experience unlike any other.
