Probably as comprehensive as a chess game can possibly get. The only downside is that even though the menu system is much easier than some of the previous Chessmaster games, it still requires some getting used to.

It is also extremely demanding on your PC, and will downright frustrate a laptop user for the constant processor usage and potential heat issues. Otherwise, it is a lush game with extras (look at the Fun Area-- made mostly for kids) that keep it fresh.

While we can say that Chessmaster 10th Edition is the best chess game in town, it simply doesn't add enough over any of the last two versions to make it a necessary upgrade.

As complete a chess package as you could want, although it's missing a few friendly touches.

The extensive training tools will drastically improve the game of any lower-level player who is willing to learn.

I thoroughly enjoyed Chessmaster 10th Edition. Whether or not you'll want to pick it up depends on several factors. The most important is, if you already have a version that works just fine on Windows 2000 or XP, and the learning tools are still working for you, you'll probably take a pass on this one.

Isn't the perfect program for hardcore chess aficionados. However, if you're looking for a good chess program that's packed with a plethora of features and all the bells and whistles, you'll be very happy with Chessmaster 10th Edition.

This truly is worth every single penny. As a novice to chess myself, there was a variety of tools and features that I'm sure will enable me to enhance my chess skills.
