Cloudpunk isn’t a perfect game, but it comes darn close. At the very least, it’s one of the best cyperpunk experiences available right now. I have no doubt that I’ll be picking up a Switch copy when the game eventually makes its way to consoles, so that I can hop into the incredible cyberpunk world wherever I go. Unlike the streets of Liberty City, the treachery and debauchery in the skies of Nivalis do not in the least bit deter me from wanting to spend more time in its neon city limits.

From its striking visuals and atmospheric soundtrack, to its fantastic storytelling, Cloudpunk really is a one-of-a-kind Cyberpunk experience.

Cloudpunk is obviously a game made with great love and care. It shines through the visuals, the soundtrack, the city, and most especially the characters. Huxley, Camus, and Ben are easily some of the characters in any video game yet released in 2020. The gameplay is not particularly deep but it is solid and enjoyable in its relaxing way. While Cloudpunk does have a few minor faults (mainly the camera), none of them detract away from what is otherwise a wonderful experience. Get your multipass ready, it’s time to go for a ride.

Cloudpunk is simply the best way to wait for Cyberpunk 2077 with its gorgeous city, its intoxicating atmosphere and a very well-written adventure. A must play this spring.

Cloudpunk brings a dystopia full of humour and human abysses to life. Cyberpunk fans will be pleased.

Cloudpunk is a tremendous accomplishment in creating a setting; in the sub-genre of cyberpunk, it knows few rivals. There’s a sense of place that demands your attention and dares you to comb every corner and jaw with every sentient settler. For a game about choice, a simplistic approach to gameplay can, at times, deprive the player of meaningful agency, which feels as though it soars in the face of the message. It’s still an absolute pleasure to drink in this one unforgettable night in Nivalis, Cloudpunk is a frontrunner for indie game of the year.

Cloudpunk absolutely nails the cyberpunk aesthetic, but it backs up style with substance. A thoughtful and sensitive story, interesting characters, and some challenging environmental puzzles all make its attractive setting really fun to play around in, even if there are limitations.

Cloudpunk even does more than expected in its decision-making gameplay; though you’re presented with binary decisions, it’s rarely a good vs evil dilemma, with plenty of variables at play to make either option valid. It really needs to be experienced by anyone interested in cyberpunk narratives, story-driven gameplay or leisurely driving games. Even for those not interested in its themes, provided you’re open to the relaxed gameplay style, Cloudpunk will surprise you with how full of life its world is.

The story has some issues, but this vast, beautiful city is a joy to take flight in.

A very promising indie with a gameplay in which freedom, and relaxation will prevail. Encounters with very curious characters, AIs with very questionable decisions and plots of corruption and allegory of the human condition and technological escalation. An interesting game to get lost in.

Crazy architecture and dilapidated neighborhoods are the backdrop to neo-noir mysteries told through well-written characters, some unforgettable, others simply characteristic.

In the end Cloudpunk is as long as its narrative, with little more than collectibles to find through exploration. Mostly there to present videogame elements like vehicle upgrades or trinkets to place around your small apartment. The story though is memorable, and often as dense and layered as the jutting buildings that make-up Nivalis. An aesthetic joy throughout, and a cyberpunk tale well worth delivering to your desktop.

A huge city in a state of entropic decay to explore, a diverse and memorable cast to meet, and an engaging new spin on adventure game navigation make for a highly compelling sci-fi experience in Cloudpunk.

In Cloudpunk I found ‘Blade Runner’, ‘Drive’, ‘Altered Carbon’ and even ‘Lobo’ vibes scattered around the cyberpunk city. The gameplay itself can be a bit repetitive but if you drive off the beaten path and bother NPCs on the way, you are in for a treat.

Cloudpunk is a fantastic game that is a lot of fun to play. When I began playing, I assumed that it was going to be a simple pick-up-and-deliver game, but what we get it so much more. While there were a few minor issues like the length of the dialogue and a lack of save options, the good heavily outweighs the bad: the story was intriguing and kept me hooked, the controls weren’t overly complicated, and I enjoyed the range of graphics on show.

It does however feature the most wonderfully realised sci-fi city I’ve ever had the pleasure to fly around, and goddamn, it’s the first flying car game I’ve ever played, and I can’t believe the stunning lack of flying car games in the gaming market. I hope this starts an incredible new genre. It’s got a fun cyber storyline, great lore, a few good lead characters that will keep you entertained, and a lush soundtrack to rival the best in the business.

With a inspired recreation with voxels of a futurist city, great ambiance and a interesting story, Cloudpunk is worth checking out.

Some of Cloudpunk's ancillary gameplay elements feel underdeveloped, but the neon lights of a cruel futuristic metropolis and a collection of amazing stories will make it worth your while.

The appearance of Cloudpunk is enough to recommend it to fans who are interested in cyberpunk. There are plenty of metaphoric and philosophical stories within, but the gameplay is not that attractive.
