It reintroduces the sometimes forgotten concept of a 10-15 minute learning curve, and has done away with a 200-page flight manual on the basics of aviation.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the game played more like a first-person shooter in the skies. In fact, any action fan comfortable with the traditional mouse and keyboard controls inherent to shooters will feel right at home piloting the Comanche.

If you want gorgeous, consistent, believable action that controls well, Comanche will appease your militaristic alter ego.

Despite the ultra clean graphics, the boredom factor lies in wait for experienced gamers. I played through most of the Comanche 4 campaign missions in a few days. But, those were a good few days.

A perfect balance between authenticity and accessibility. It probably won’t appeal to the hard-core sim fans, whilst those that like their action immediately up front will probably also be deterred.

Throw in some amazing graphics and entertaining mission design and you have a fun, action-packed title that should appeal to trigger-happy pilots everywhere.

It may be just a pretty face, but damned if Comanche 4 doesn’t have enough hot-looking curves to take your mind off its lack of brains.

The excellent graphical effects, nonstop action, and nominal helicopter content make this a great game to fire up for a while just as a change of pace.

A fun-filled, fast-action title with missions of all difficulty levels, which is achieved at the cost of in depth graphics and technical stability.

The quality graphics, accessible interface, fun single-player and multiplayer action, and effective sound all combine to make this a very appealing release.

The missions are interesting and, let’s face it, every once in a while, it’s a cathartic blast to wade into the middle of swarms of bad guys and teach them the folly of opposing truth, justice, and the American way.

By making the game more accessible to general consumers, they also took out some of the much needed depth. What it does, it does fine, but it doesn't do too much.

The game is, for lack of a better term, tired.

It may fall between two stools. It isn't realistic enough to please the sim crowd but action players may find some of the restrictions placed on them -- only four weapons to choose from, the inability to point the nose where they want and the need to rely on concealment -- too confining.

It appeals to a man's primal (well, juvenile, at any rate) need to blow stuff up, that part of the pre-adolescent male psyche that puts fireworks in model airplanes, melts GI Joes, and burns down popsicle stick cabins.

This one flies in the face of taste, tweaks the nose of subtlety and goes down in a blaze of glory, all guns blazing.
