Fruit Ninja is a Counter-Strike: 2 aim trainer created by an inspired modder

Halfbrick's Fruit Ninja was one of the first smartphone hits, released in 2010. It was a combination of simplicity and an irresistible ramp of difficulty: Not to mention that slicing fruit with a virtual knife is incredibly satisfying. It turns out that blowing them with an AK-47 also works.

Fruit Ninja, created by modder Lillykyu with artist Ethurs, is now available in Counter-Strike 2. It's a great aim trainer for one of the most competitive FPSs on the planet. Fruit Ninja is now available in the Steam Workshop. It offers three modes and a variety fruit.

You are armed with an AK-47 and facing a small, narrow window. Watermelons will be thrown at you from different angles. Shoot them, they explode into satisfying chunks of red. You start with three lives and lose one for each miss. After a few dozen watermelons, smaller fruits and bombs appear. Shooting a bomb will also cost you a life.

I don't know how to rate this as an aim-trainer, but is it fun or not? It's fun, especially when you play around with the practice mode. You can change weapons, and more importantly, you can set spawn rates of the bombs and fruits. Then, you can ramp them up to ridiculous degrees.

The mod has a third option: 360 mode. This is the part that I sorta skipped. You have 30 seconds to blast as many watermelons as you can in a circular arena surrounded by tons of them bouncing out of the moat. This level's background is a bit blurry, and with all the spinning and splashing watermelons, it didn’t really work for me.

I fired up practice and let loose full-auto, resulting in a satisfying cascade. This won't change Counter-Strike 2 but I can see it fitting into my little warm-up map rotation: It's very satisfying to shoot the watermelons.
